In 2026, I became the sole owner of Mountain Media House. It was a natural moment to ask a hard question: what kind of work do I actually want to make, and what kind of director do I want to be?
I grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, spent thirteen years in Los Angeles, and returned home with the intention of building a community around filmmaking. It was a counterintutive move, but it has been one of the best decisions I ever made as a filmmaker. The creative community we’ve built in the intervening years around our projects and the northern Michigan landscape has become an essential source of inspiration for my approach as a director.
My work begins with people, and I follow the questions that drive my subjects wherever they lead. On the client side, I bring the same instinct to commercial and documentary work: I listen to you first, find the human core of your story, and build everything we do together from there. I've directed everything from thirty-second commercial spots on a tight schedule to a three-season streaming series over the course of a decade. I’ve led small groups on a tiny set and managed 100 extras in the wilderness. No matter the scale, my approach is the same: your story is there, it’s unique, and I’m here to help you tell it.
Through Northern Light Productions, I'm developing an original film trilogy set in Northern Michigan. Each of the three films expands on the storylines and characters established in the completed three seasons of the streaming series NORTHBOUND.
